The Master's Chorale was formed September 2003. The call went out for musicians of the North County to participate in a Christian community choir. Our first rehearsal brought 32 talented and faithful musicians. The group has continued to grow and improve since.
The Master's Chorale (TMC) is one of few community-based choirs with a Christian emphasis. Many cities and colleges have "Master" chorales and choirs. Being secular in nature, they tend to follow a classical format, and prescribe to a secular audience. TMC is unique, in that our music selections are appealing to both the Christian and non-believer alike.
TMC has made every effort to ensure our rise in the community has been one of support and encouragement to other local music groups and Church ministries. Our rehearsals are held on Monday nights, a night traditionally not considered a Music Ministry night by local churches.
The musical growth TMC has experienced these past 3 years has been nothing less than miraculous. We have recorded several CD's, performed with Crimson Bridge, headlined with Mary James, performed at the Mid-State Fair in 2004 and 2006, and are invited to perform at several local venues... we even took a trip to Texas for an Easter Concert Tour in 2006.
As an ongoing contribution to the Central Coast, TMC promotes and produces the Atascadero Music Festival. This day-long event features local bands and soloists performing a variety of music. Featured groups have included The Martin Paris Band (Templeton, CA), Mary James and her band (San Diego, CA), Jericho Road (Atascadero, CA), Athena (Paso Robles, CA), The Israelites (Los Angeles, CA) to name a few. The 2006 Atascadero MusicFest debut the group Road to Ammeus, a new local band providing back-up music for The Master's Chorale.
A special thanks goes to Berean Bible Fellowship of Atascadero for their grace and generosity in allowing TMC use of their church for rehearsal on a weekly basis. Their support has been pivotal in making the TMC ministry a success.
For now, The Master's Chorale continues to grow and develop. We are just beginning our journey and look forward to many years of service to our community.
